Does Colorado Springs need another church?
The Springs area doesn’t need another option for believers to shop the church circuit. What is does need is a church that offers environments that are easy to invite people to.
I heard that Red Rock Church is a non-denominational church. What does non-denominational mean?
In organizing this church, our foremost desire was to be an attractive environment for those who do not regularly attend church. For the most part, our feeling is that denominational titles mean more to people already involved in church than it does to others in our culture. For this reason, we have chosen not to affiliate ourselves with any particular denomination. We try to clearly state what we believe on the Our Beliefs and Our Values pages of our website.
Is this a video church?
In the sense that we use video for the message portion of our service, yes. However, we feel that the label is a bit of a misnomer as the church is absolutely locally led, with a full-time staff, full children’s programming, numerous key environments, and local volunteers.
Our only interest is putting the best possible message in front of people. When a person invites someone, we understand that they have expended a great deal of relational capital to convince their unchurched family member, friend, co-worker, or neighbor to finally attend that morning. The fact that Andy Stanley has the rare gift to connect with all people whether they go to church or not, is something that we want to leverage in those moments because we understand what’s at stake. It is not all about promoting Andy. Rather, we know there’s a message that has been delivered and tested, and it is something that people resonate with.
By separating the leadership and teaching function from the role of the Lead Pastor gives him the ability to identify and equip more leaders and build a healthy, effective organization in a shorter period of time because not as much of the leader’s focus is being drawn into message creation.
This does not preclude our local Lead Pastor from delivering live messages. He usually communicates in between Andy’s series, around 10 times per year, about the unique things for which God has given him a passion.
What is the leadership Structure?
An imperfect system filled with men and women of integrity will function far better than a perfect system filled with men and women who lack integrity. The people we choose are as important as the system we use.
The phrases we use to describe the function of government at Red Rock Church is that we are:

The Red Rock Church government is built around five main teams of people:
The Board of Elders
The Stewardship Team
The Leadership Team
The Personnel Team
The Ministry Team Representatives (MTRs)
The Board of Elders functions primarily as a group of discerners and shepherds. They also serve as the conscience and guardians of the church. Their role is to evaluate the effectiveness and direction of the organization in light of three things: mission, resources, and doctrinal statement.
The Stewardship Team oversees all the financial and personnel matters. The Lead Pastor is accountable to the Stewardship Team in all these matters, and along with the Church administrator, attends the team’s meetings but without voting privileges.
The Leadership Team consists of staff members selected by the Lead Pastor. The purpose of this group is to determine programming, give vision to the various ministries of the church, and to oversee the day-to-day operations.
The Personnel Team has the responsibility of establishing guidelines for salaries of all employees. The Personnel Team is accountable to the Board of Elders to which it regularly reports it’s activities and decisions.
Ministry Team Representatives (MTRs) are individuals chosen within a particular area of ministry to represent that group as a channel or communication to and from the other ministries, staff and elders.
