Our dream started with two brothers, Andrew and Paul Reichart. For years, they dreamed of a church that was simple, excellent and inclusive.

Simple, in that a church could do less and have more impact. Excellent in a way that honors God and attracts people. Inclusive of all people, not just church people—a place where God is accessible to everyone, no matter where they are on their faith journey.

Andrew and Paul’s dream began materializing in the summer of 2005 when they attended a conference at North Point Community Church in Alpharetta, Georgia. Soon after, they formed a partnership with North Point Ministries. Andrew and Paul moved their families to Georgia for three months to learn and prepare to start a strategic partner church in Colorado Springs, CO. Then in the spring of 2006, they returned to Colorado Springs and invited others to join them in making the dream come true. Twenty families shared the dream and were vital to the launch of Red Rock Church.

Even now, we still ask, “Are we dreaming?” when we hear a story about how God used a person or an environment at Red Rock to change an “outsider’s” mind about church, about Jesus, or about their priorities and habits.  Here is one of those stories:

Chris and Audrey’s Story

Chris and Audrey did not grow up attending church and they had a negative view of Christianity. They rented their apartment from Paul G., who attends Red Rock, and invited them to check it out.

They were blown away. The service was not what they expected, and they wanted to come back. Chris and Audrey kept coming, eventually joining a Starting Point group, where they were able to discuss their questions about the Christian faith. Chris and Audrey now serve in Waumba Land and UpStreet, the preschool and grade school ministries at Red Rock. Serving helped them to grow in their faith journey. They also joined a Community Group, where they have significant relationships with a group of people who walk alongside them in life. Both Chris and Audrey have placed their trust in Jesus Christ since attending Red Rock.

If you ask Chris and Audrey how their lives are different from when Paul invited them to Red Rock two years ago, they would have a lot to say.  Their faith in Christ has strengthened their relationship in more ways than we could list here.  Prior to their visiting Red Rock, Audrey had a loose relationship with the Catholic Church and Chris was a “set-in-stone” atheist.  Though both had some exposure to Christianity, there was never an acknowledged necessity of the faith.  When falling on rough times relationally, both truly accepted Christ into their hearts and pulled through.  The marriage was saved in joint reverence of Christ.
