As we approach the end of the year, we look back and celebrate all that God did through our church in 2020. In the midst of an unpredictable year, Jesus blessed us in so many ways and his mission was advanced. We were able to go entirely online in the midst of COVID, and in doing so we expanded our reach. New people are showing up to church now who found us online during the quarantine days! We hired some incredible staff from all across the country to come and join in the mission God has called us to. We saw over 50 people give their lives to Jesus and get baptized! Our kids and student ministries continued to experience growth spiritually and numerically. Though the world seemed to shut down this year, the mission of Jesus was alive and well. Though it’s been a difficult year, Jesus has proven to be worth it all!

When we look forward, we couldn’t be more excited for all that God is doing. The decision to change our name and become Peak City Church is going to help newcomers find us even easier. While we will have a new name, the mission has not changed. When you combine the name change with our amazing new permanent facility that God has blessed us with, the possibilities for what God could do are limitless.

We are still in awe that God has provided this new permanent church home for us at 1710 Dublin Blvd. Thanks to the generosity of so many people who believe in our future, we were able to pull together the necessary financial resources to get past the first hurdle of a down payment for our first home. Construction has begun, and we can’t wait to open the doors of this new facility to our community in April of 2021. We believe this new facility is going to help thousands of people in our community discover Jesus and follow him fearlessly.

In order to move forward and accomplish the next step in the process of owning our first home, our bank is asking us to raise an additional $700,000 over the next two years to apply to the building loan, above our normal operating expenses. Additionally, we know that moving into a new facility is going to result in growth, which will result in an increase of our operating expenses. The generosity of our congregation has always been one of our biggest strengths, and we believe this is possible if we all come together and give sacrificially.

So as we look forward together and approach our year-end giving initiative, we’re asking everyone to pray, plan, and make a two year financial commitment. This will help us prepare for the months and years ahead as we continue to reach the people of Colorado Springs. We understand that this is a complicated time for everyone with the uncertainty in our world. But as best you can, pray, plan, and think through how much God is asking you to give each month towards this exciting season in the life of our church. On December 13th we will be asking everyone to make their commitments.

And for those who are able, we’re asking everyone to give as much of their commitment up front by the end of December as a year-end gift to kickstart this next phase of the project.

Let’s pray, let’s prepare, and let’s give big to advance the mission of helping people discover Jesus and follow him fearlessly. The future is bright, and we can’t wait to walk into that future with you, together. Let’s show Jesus that he really is worth it all!
